Friends 18th Annual Event Successful

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Annual Salad Luncheon and Chinese Auction.
From those who donated items for the raffle and the auction, prepared one of the many delicious salads, or helped setup before and or helped clean up after the event. Even those who just came and enjoyed the day.

Income from this event was $1779.28 before expenses. The Friends donate $2,000.00 each year to the library to underwrite the library's three summer reading programs for incentives and prizes to encourage kids to come to the library and read all through the summer.

REMINDER: It is time to renew your membership. Forms are available at the library. If you haven't joined, please consider doing so because we can never have too many Friends!

THINK GREEN !!

Green is the color of the Community Market’s grocery receipts, which the Friends of the Library are collecting to help underwrite the Library’s Summer Reading Programs.

Each year the Friends of the Library donate a substantial portion of their fund-raising efforts to the library so that we may purchase reading incentives and prizes as we cannot by law purchase such items with public funds.  With several hundred students registering for the program, it takes lots of prizes and incentives to entice the children to keep reading and to draw them to the special presentations each week.

For your convenience, a receptacle is located on the Children’s circulation desk into which you can put your receipts.  The Friends of the Library will tally the receipts and take care of the rest. We will receive a penny on every dollar totaled on receipts.

We appreciate the Community Market returning their success to local non-profit organizations like the Friends of the Library. And, we appreciate our Friends and patrons for saving and collecting the receipts!
