Animal feces removal

You are required to pick up animal feces while walking your animal in the Village limits.
Bike License

All bicycles must be licensed. Licenses may be obtained at the Clerk’s Office at a cost of $1.00. You must have your bike’s serial number.
Confection Vendors
Ordinance #1303
There is a permit fee of $100. The vehicle must be inspected by the police department. Proof of insurance is required.

Garage Sale

A garage sale permit is required and may be obtained at the Clerk’s Office at no charge.
Junk Vehicles

All vehicles must be licensed.
Leash Law
Ordinance #1271
All animals shall be leashed or under the owners control at all times.
Maintenance Code
Ordinance #95-1
This ordinance sets requirements for the maintenance of your home. It is very comprehensive and may be obtained at the Clerk’s office.
Mowing
Ordinance #1326
Grass must be mowed when it exceeds 8” in height. After a 5 day notice, the Village employees may mow your lawn at the owner’s expense.
Noise
Ordinance #00-20
Any unreasonable noise or loud sound is prohibited.
Peddlers and Solicitors (door-to-door sales)
Ordinance #96-18
Peddlers and solicitors are prohibited without a permit. There is an application fee of $50. The fees to be determined by the Chief of Police will not exceed $240.00.
Riding or Skating in the Business District
Ordinance #96-15
Riding of bicycles, skateboards, inline skates, and roller skates is prohibited between Wood Street and Adrian Street on either side of Main Street.
Snow Removal
It is mandatory to remove snow from sidewalks within 36 hours after the snowfall ends.
Tobacco Use By Minors
Resolution #99-7
It is unlawful for a minor to possess or purchase tobacco products of any kind.
